The Anger in Ernest
and Ernestine by Leah Cherniak, Robert Morgan and
Martha Ross. Ernest and Ernestine, very much in love,
decide to move in together into a basement apartment
with no windows and an erratic furnace. Tension
builds over where to place the tissue box and whether
or not having sex on the kitchen table is hygienic.
We follow their relationship both cringeing and nodding
in acknowledgement as their initial ideals of romantic
perfection descend into homicidal fantasies.
